“Should I take a daily aspirin?” This is one of the most common questions I get as a cardiologist.
In my cardiology practice, I estimate that 40 to 50 percent of my patients are already using aspirin when I see them. It’s unclear to me why some patients are using aspirin, and when I ask them, they usually answer one of a few things:
“My doctor told me it would be okay.”
“I take it to help my heart.”
